Career
John Kennedy was born and raised in Sudbury and has spent some 25
years on the airwaves becoming one of the area's most popular
announcers. While in high school, he toured CKSO AM, FM and
Television. Impressed with what he saw, he thought working on
the air could be just right for him.
After graduating from Canadore College in North Bay, the doors at
CKSO swung open and he became a television reporter for nearly a
year but found he preferred radio.
In an interview with Northern Life - Greater Sudbury on the
Web, John said turning to radio was the right thing. He
said, "I was lucky enough to work 25 years in a business I loved
with a passion". Kennedy did radio news and then eventually
became a show host.
Kennedy retired from Newcap Radio's Z103 in Sudbury just after the
end of 2005. Fond of his hometown John has volunteered with
several non-profit organizations helping to make the city a better
place to live and work.
Kennedy's style was personable and friendly, while he tried to keep
pace on current news, sports and entertainment enabling him to have
and offer a point of view.
